🌍 International Day of Living Together in Peace – A Call for Ethical Digital Use Among Children

On May 14, 2025, in observance of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, AGAPE – Learning & Growing Together, in collaboration with Christian Fellowship Society Pakistan and St. Mary’s Public School, organized a thought-provoking interfaith dialogue on the theme “Ethical Use of Digital Spaces: Risks & Solutions.” Held at St. Mary’s Public School, Wah Cantt, the event brought together respected faith and community leaders from Muslim, Christian, and Sikh backgrounds, along with educators, students, and parents.
This gathering aimed to highlight the importance of responsible digital engagement, particularly for children, in alignment with Strategic Goal 1 of the GNRC 6th Forum: Building a Safe World for/with Children.
The leaders emphasized the shared moral responsibility of faith communities to guide the younger generation toward ethical online behavior. Key concerns such as cyberbullying, misinformation, digital addiction, and the erosion of empathy in online interactions were openly discussed.
All leaders expressed a unified commitment to promoting ethical digital use in their sermons and community teachings, while also encouraging parents and educators to foster real-world connections, outdoor play, and active family engagement. The event concluded with a joint pledge to work across religious and social boundaries to protect children’s dignity and mental well-being in both digital and physical environments.
AGAPE, through this initiative, reaffirmed its commitment to peacebuilding, interfaith harmony, and the Sustainable Development Goals, especially those focused on children, education, and community welfare.
