Heavy Floods Devastate Punjab: Millions Affected Across Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab Rivers

Punjab, Pakistan – August 2025:
Severe flooding in Punjab’s major rivers — the Sutlej, Ravi, and Chenab — has caused widespread devastation, resulting in the loss of 17 lives and affecting over 1.46 million people across 1,692 mouzas, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

Scale of Impact

The floods have forced the evacuation of more than 265,000 people, with 1,372 individuals sheltered in 355 relief camps and 6,656 receiving medical assistance. In addition, 90,348 people and 154,980 cattle have been successfully moved to safer areas.

Government Response
